THE PIRATE CAMP

Encompassing the area between Dyster and the forest to the west, Vaas' pirate camp is what you'd expect of a guerrilla dugout - it's dirty, it's uncomfortable, it's loud, and it's not an ideal place to find yourself in. Tents and other structures (very few actually finished) are ramshackle, offering little privacy; sleeping accommodations are the few bare mattresses lying around or whatever can be scrounged together for a nest. Food is lifted from robbed travelers on the main road and distributed evenly, but a small subset of the pirates have become regular cannibals thanks to Vaas' insatiable appetite for souls. Just to be safe, its many red banners make it impossible to miss, even at a distance; should anyone wander too far off the main road, the forest nearer to them is tagged with red cloth to mark the edges of their territory. Anyone who enters uninvited does so at their own risk, and there is a strict no-tolerance rule for any sort of violence within the camp's boundaries. Starting or engaging in a fight is punished harshly. Exact punishments depending on Vaas' mood (or the mood of whoever he's put in charge while he's gone), but amputation is the most common. Second-time offenders and thieves are killed on the spot. The pirates are working in their free time to build a proper cockfighting ring, if you're into that. ![]() There is also a budding human trafficking operation, but dealing mainly in soulless bodies rather than actual living people. Monsters are welcome to purchase partial or entire corpses at a somewhat reasonable price, but seriously, it's probably a better idea to go kill someone yourself. There are cages. They're few in number and can only hold humans (and relatively weak ones at that), but you should still probably stay out of them. ![]() Vaas has his own room near the center of camp, identifiable by the eyes painted everywhere. You should probably stay out of here too. Vaas is the current leader, and is generally well-liked by his people. Despite the size of the camp, there are currently only 10 to 15 pirates altogether. There's not really much to do or see here, unless you like hanging out with grubby criminals. Or meth. ![]() The main source of income for Vaas and his affiliates, the meth lab is in a small dugout at the far end of the camp. The smell pervades the entire surrounding area when the wind is wrong, and only two pirates in protective gear are at work at any one time - the operation is small, but reasonably well-supplied, and guarded religiously at all times. Explosions are uncommon, but still happen from time to time. The quality of their product is low, but there's a steady production (no longer toxic thanks to some hard work), and the stuff is relatively cheap - for the meantime. The weed side of the operation is largely handled by Gamzee Makara, although the pirates cover selling and moving the stuff when necessary. |

▸ PHYSICAL AFFECTION Might end in groping, might end in getting your lips chewed off. It's all about context.▸ RELATIONSHIPS ▸ VIOLENCE Awesome! Vaas revels in violence, whether it's brutally beating someone down or a really satisfying, low-down dogfight - especially if it nearly kills him. He's a master of guerrilla warfare and loves to fight dirty, whether that means drugging his opponent or luring them into traps, and he's got a taste for extravagant methods of killing and torture. Batman villain kind of extravagant.▸ DEATH: Totally fine as long as it makes sense - talk to me about it!▸ MEDICAL INFO: Physically healthy...ish......, lots of old wounds and scars, has spent the last few years living on a steady diet of boar and fruit and beer and probably meth, idk he's generally just a grubby gross thug.▸ PSYCHOLOGICAL INFO: Extremely unstable, mercurial, and prone to sudden, unexpected bursts of rage. Sadistic. Psychopathic. Considers himself completely sane in an insane world. Regularly takes extreme and potentially deadly risks without any sign of hesitation or fear for his own safety. Don't talk about his sister, and definitely don't fuck his sister. Jason.▸ MIND READING/TELEPATHY: Fine! Drop me a line so I can tell you what your character would see. It's gonna be bad shit, amigo. It also carries the risk of referencing psychological abuse and extremely dubious brother-sister incest from a victim pov, so lmk if you'd rather swerve mention of that.▸ OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS/TRIGGERS/ETC: Don't talk about his sister, don't talk about Jason Brody, and probably don't bring up the concept of family either (he's got Issues with it). He dislikes disrespect that isn't entertaining or drags out to the point of not being funny anymore, pleading/screaming/begging, and minor acts of defiance in his captives, although he's less likely to get violent with those! He'll just call you a pussy. ▸ PLAYER: Ash ▸ CONTACT: PM ▸ SPEED: Decent, but I dig backtagging. ▸ FORMAT: Present tense, no preference between prose and brackets. ▸ OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS/TRIGGERS/ETC: None! |

Vaas is not a nice character! He's foulmouthed, deeply unhinged, prone to violence, and gets his kicks from tormenting others - canon examples include shocking someone with a car battery, pulling their teeth out with pliers, and tricking them into eating their dead friends. His tags may also reference graphic violence, torture, murder, human trafficking, drug use, rape, psychological abuse, very rarely brother-sister incest, mental illness, and a whole host of other potentially triggering topics. In addition, his mental instability and hair-trigger temper means that any face-to-face interaction has the possibility of turning nasty, although I'll always PM you when a thread seems to be turning that way.
